30 Day Shred - Day 1

So today I started my little experiment of doing a workout DVD in the morning before I get ready for my day. I picked Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred, because I already own it. The basic concept of the DVD is that in 3 workout sets composed of 3 min strength, 2 min cardio, and 1 min abs Jillian Michaels will get you shredded. There are three levels, 1 being the easiest and that is what I did today.

I’ve done level 1 maybe 5 times on this DVD before. I used this DVD as a substitute for my workouts on the weekends but now I’m going to use it as a supplement. It still kills me though. In 18 minutes I am sweating like crazy and I don’t sweat that much. Jillian is true to herself saying things like “I’ve got 400 pound people doing jumping jacks you can do it too” or my favorite, “That pain right there, that’s fear leaving the body.” I laugh when I hear that but uh I guess it’s true.

Anyway that’s my new plan. I’m going to do this every morning except Fridays (because of Cycle Sculpt) and Sundays (my day of rest). Since there are three stages and you are supposed to commit 30 days to Jillian I will keep doing level 1 until Dec 28.
