Tri for Sight Race Report
Today, after three crazy long hours, I became a triathlete! The weeks leading up to this have been challenge enough for me. With getting a new job and other things that have come up (weddings out of town, etc.) I’ve had a hard time getting in all my training. Another thing that made me nervous this morning was for the last week I have been getting these dizzy spells. I really didn’t...

opps I forgot you
Some Running Thoughts I’ve had since the Lexington Half:
I ran the Bryan Station Classic 5k a couple weeks after the half and got a 7 min PR! I’m faster than I think I am. I am one of those runners who always needs to save some energy, I always need to have something in the tank. I learned at this 5k that if the race is a 5k I don’t need to save any energy, it’s done in a...

Lexington Half Marathon
Well, I will finally write down my thoughts regarding the Lexington Half before I forget it all. Forgetting it is not that likely though.
I have been training for this half since mid December. On every run I have visualized running the Lexington Half and finishing well. I was so excited for this race! I woke up at 6 and met up with my brother a half hour later. I ate a bagel and a banana for...

longest run
OK I’ll get back on the tumblr thing since this should be a workout log for me. I wanted to write something about today because it was a test, one that I could have easily failed.
Since November I have been running. I ran the 5k in December which I wrote about on here and since then I have been training for a half marathon which is two weeks away. This has been a long journey for me....

Workout Schedule
OK so planning is the key I suppose. Here is what my weekly schedule is going to look like now that I’m doing weekly sessions with Nikki, training for the half-marathon, and there’s a new class schedule at the gym.
Monday - Rest Day
Tuesday - Easy Run (during lunch) & Spin (after work)
Wednesday - Spin (during lunch) & Recovery Run (some weeks after work)
Thursday - Strides...

I went up .4 lbs?
FUDGE. I blame it all on the damn fudge. Also I didn’t track anything I ate this week. I was bad. So for being bad I did alright. I guess that means as far as WW is concerned I won’t hit my 10% until 2010 but is there a better year to do so?
I guess it is true what my London mates say about me - I really am the most optimistic person I know. I can spin anything.

Christmas Eve workout
I should start with last night. I met with Nikki and I got a new cross-training workout. Ugh. I hate the first go around I’m so confused but Nikki put lots of notes in my phone so I should be ok when I have to do it on my own. I am doing a lot of things that involve coordination which I am not so good at, but I know improving my control will benefit me more than the actual weights or reps...

WW Anchors
So last night I weighed in at WW and lost .4 of a pound so I’m at 136.8 lbs. That means that I have one pound to lose before I hit my 10% goal. I REALLY want to do this by the end of 2009 but with all this Christmas stuff it’s going to be very hard. We shall see. I am working out a lot so I know that helps. I think I’m going to have to just eat those 0 point soups for dinner and...

Spin & Power Plate
Today I did a thirty minute spin class and I cranked up the tension higher than ever during the sprints… this may seem counterintuitive but they say that the point of sprints is just to make your heart rate skyrocket - so the higher your tension the better, your legs don’t have to be going super fast. Anyway, it was a good spin class tonight. I’m noticing that the classes are...

Lunch Time
OK so I’m still on these Healthy Choice steamer bowls (They were 5 for $10, OK?) so today I had the Cajun Chicken & Shrimp and I will not be buying that one again. The sauce wasn’t spicey and the shrimp wasn’t very good. The rice was great for microwave rice though.
By far my favorite steamer bowl is the Chicken Pesto Classico - it is the best frozen meal I’ve ever...

Today's Run
I ran 4 miles on the treadmill. I walked a five min warmup but that was only about .2 a mile, so I ran 3.8 miles straight through. That’s the farthest I have run without walking.
I did develop a stitch in my side about 5 minutes into my run but I was able to concentrate on my breathing and I ran through it. I didn’t get shin splints but now my calves are sore. Overall though I think...

30 Day Shred - Day 1
So today I started my little experiment of doing a workout DVD in the morning before I get ready for my day. I picked Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred, because I already own it. The basic concept of the DVD is that in 3 workout sets composed of 3 min strength, 2 min cardio, and 1 min abs Jillian Michaels will get you shredded. There are three levels, 1 being the easiest and that is what I did...

JUST FYI
I registered for the Lexington Half-Marathon today. Yeah it’s like 4 months away but now I’m forced to do it, which is what I need.
VERY excited for this. I’m ready to be a person who actually does things with the healthy body I’ve been blessed with.
YMCA 5k
So this morning I ran the YMCA 5k and finished in 37:05. So cool, since my goal was 45 min. During all my training I was averaging an 11 min mile and I figured I would probably walk some and I’m also a big fan of giving myself a generous amount of time for these things.
This was my first 5k or any kind of race ever. I was scared at first seeing all these people because I’m used to...

Lunch time →
I had the Sweet Sesame Chicken Healthy Choice bowl today. It was good, but I thought I was going to choke on some of the vegetables. The rice was awesome esp for microwave rice.
I love these steamer bowls, I could eat one everyday. Seriously. This one I’d try again, but it’s 6 WW points and for that amount I’d probably choose a different bowl. I didn’t finish all the rice...

FIT Friday
Today I went to Cycle Sculpt class. This is a 45 min class where you do intervals of spinning and strength training. I love this class because it always starts with abs. Of course that means I hate this class come Saturday morning.
Something happened though during the last spin set and I thought I was going to throw up. Literally. My breathing got messed up. There I am yawning because my body is...

Weigh In
I lost 1.8 lbs in the last two weeks! This means I am 1.4 lbs away from my 10% goal.
Yes, I am on the Weight Watchers plan and I like it a lot. I recommend it.
I started the program on May 4, 2009. I weighed 150.8 lbs.
Today I weigh 137.2 lbs. My total weight loss in a little over 7 months is 13.6 lbs. I think that’s pretty good.
WORKOUT REPORT: Today I walked to and from class, a 40 min...
Today I do my last run before my first 5k!!

I remember when I used to think to myself, “Britney Spears does 1000 crunches in a single day. I HAVE TO DO THIS!” Ok Britney it’s on. I will do it.
